Workshop B: Client Protection

Thursday 14th October
1330 - 1630

Smart financial institutions protect their businesses by adhering to high standards for the ethical treatment of their clients.  This workshop is for industry stakeholders that want to know more about best practices in client protection and how better practices can benefit their institutions.

Participants will benefit from an introduction to the six principles of client protection, the industry-wide standard for the ethical, fair, and transparent treatment of clients. Beyond learning about these principles, participants will perform a guided mini-assessment of their institutions, to identify their strong and weak client protection practices. Once these areas have been identified, the moderator will introduce participants to tools designed to help institution’s improve their CP practices. Finally, participants will leave the workshop armed with information about the best resources available for continued learning and implementation.

By the end of the workshop, participants will be able to answer the following questions:
• What are the principles of client protection?
• How do they apply to my institution?
• Which of my institution’s client protection practices are “weak?”
• How can my institution address these areas of weaknesses?
• Where can I find additional resources on this topic, that I can use in my own institution?

Join the workshop to learn how Client Protection can be beneficial for MFIs, as they can innovate, broaden the scope of their services, improve clients and staff loyalty and more.
